1979 Alfa Romeo Alfasud Ti Mk II 1.5 – One of the Original Hot Hatches
An exceptionally rare opportunity to own one of Alfa Romeo’s most charismatic classics. This 1979 Alfa Romeo Alfasud Ti Mk II is believed to be one of only around five surviving examples in the UK, making it an incredibly scarce and desirable collector’s car.
Widely regarded as one of the original hot hatches, the Alfasud Ti was years ahead of its time. At its heart is Alfa Romeo’s renowned flat-four boxer engine, mounted low in the chassis to create an exceptionally low centre of gravity. Combined with the car’s lightweight construction and superb chassis balance, it delivers outstanding handling, impressive grip and a planted, confidence-inspiring driving experience that still stands up today.
Originally fitted with a 1.35-litre engine, this example has been upgraded to the more desirable 1.5-litre boxer engine, offering improved performance whilst remaining true to the character of the car. It has recently benefited from a cambelt replacement and service and is mechanically excellent, ready to be enjoyed.
Finished in classic white with its original two-tone green and charcoal cloth interior, the car is wonderfully period and beautifully presented. It has also benefited from a quality paint refresh, new front lights and period-style platinum number plates.
The car sits on its rare 14-inch Alfa Romeo Ronal alloy wheels, finished in silver in the distinctive pepper-pot design and fitted with matching Goodyear tyres, completing its authentic period appearance.
Showing just 55,264 miles, this Alfasud is supported by an extensive history file. Adding further provenance, it was featured in Practical Classics magazine, with the original magazine included in the history file.
